What to Expect
Face to Face in Hove & Online
Face-to-face sessions take place in calm, comfortable, and confidential therapy rooms in Hove. Meeting in person can offer a sense of stepping out of everyday life, creating a pause and a clear boundary around your time. For some, even the journey to and from therapy becomes part of the process — a way of leaving the day behind and giving space to reflect before returning to regular life.
Online or telephone sessions can be just as valuable, particularly if you’re based outside Brighton & Hove, have limited time, or simply feel more at ease connecting in this way. What matters most is finding the format that supports you. Whichever option you choose, I usually work with clients at the same time and day each week to create a sense of rhythm and consistency.

Counselling for Individuals
Individual counselling is a confidential, one-to-one space that’s focused entirely on you. In our sessions, we’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, memories, and relationships. Often, the same themes or struggles can show up in different areas of life, and by giving them attention together, we can begin to understand them more deeply.
You may notice that past experiences are still shaping how you feel or respond in the present, sometimes without you realising it. Counselling provides the space to bring these patterns into awareness so you can see them more clearly and choose how you want to move forward.
It’s also natural that strong emotions — grief, anger, anxiety, or anything else you’ve been carrying — may come up. Rather than needing to manage them alone, this is a safe and confidential setting where you can stay with those feelings and process them at your own pace.
Because this work is one-to-one, it’s tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. Over time, it can bring greater self-awareness, resilience, and clarity, helping you respond to life in ways that feel more conscious, grounded, and true to who you are.
You can also read more about the areas I work with to get a sense of the kinds of experiences counselling can support.
